SAILING & BOAT, KAYAK and SUP HIRE
Boats, both sailing boats and motor boats, can be hired locally with Dittisham Boats and in Dartmouth . For Kayak hire try Canoe Adventures in Tuckenhay. Stand-up paddle (SUP) boards can also be hired at the Paddleshack in Dartmouth.

Take the ferry to Greenway House or Dartmouth from Dittisham. It may be worth booking online in high season.

Take a trip on the steam railway at Totnes to Buckfastleigh.
Explore the steam railway from Kingswear to Paignton.

Castles & Houses
There are some glorious gardens and several National Trust and other historic properties within easy range of Vipers Quay – Greenway House, once the home of Agatha Christie, with its lovely woodland gardens, lies just across the river, reached by ferry from the village. Just the other side of Totnes, the 1,200 acre Dartington Estate is home to a variety of attractions and events including open air cinema (in the summer months), tours, talks and exhibitions.

Places to go with Children
There are many attractions popular with children include Pennywell Farm, the excellent zoo at Paignton and a model village at Babbacombe. Woodlands Leisure Park (5m) has lots of rides and activities for children. For a lovely day out, why not try combining the Totnes Rare Breeds Centre with a ride on the steam train to Buckfastleigh (the station is adjacent to the Rare Breeds Centre) and a visit to the otter sanctuary at the other end. A little further afield the River Dart Country Park has kayaking, canoeing, a high ropes course and climbing.

There are a number of golf courses locally, many with great views across the coast and countryside. The nearest course is the Dartmouth Hotel, for which we are able to offer guests vouchers for 25% off green fees. There are vouchers in the bureau in the living room, just fill them in and take them along to claim the discount.
